As an artist, my first love is wildlife. I try to capture what inspires me, whether it be a kingfisher zipping down the river, a lazy-looking cheetah seen on safari or cute New Forest donkeys. I enjoy running art classes aboard cruise ships. I have also demonstrated for Derwent at art fairs and run workshops for the Cumberland Pencil Museum, the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens and the National Trust. Some of my step by step demos feature on the Derwent website www.pencils.co.uk. I have also contributed articles to Leisure Painter and other magazines. Since leaving the academic world of art and design history, I have exhibited my work at many venues in the Hampshire area. I am a member of Romsey Art Group, the UK Coloured Pencil Society and Chandlers Ford Art Group.
